CHESS
CHESS is an application for compiling, presenting and distributing information about chemicals and how to handle them. The system is an important driving force in the work to prevent damage/injury and reduce costs. More than 300 customers in the Nordic countries use CHESS.
Our customers include suppliers of chemicals, end-users and companies where chemicals are handled daily. The requirements for handling chemicals in firms, organisations and public institutions are increasingly in focus. Companies are facing clearly defined regulations.
Careless storage or use and lack of knowledge of chemicals may cause serious damage/injury.
Prevention
CHESS makes it simple to obtain information about health risks, correct protective equipment and fire extinguishing equipment. The application will help provide you with a full overview of where chemicals are stored and used. It also makes it easy to access environmental information from HSE data sheets. Handling and storage information will help companies prevent accidents and damage/injury to both people and the environment.
Limiting damages
In case of accidents or damage, information about chemicals may be obtained quickly and efficiently. Bureau Veritas HSE provides information about correct first-aid as well as guidance about fire-related hazards. The action card module collocates data about chemicals at every location, so that the correct measures may be taken in case of accidents.
Reducing costs
Companies are placing increasingly more emphasis on systematic work to prevent accidents, damage and injury – to people, property and the environment. A better overview will contribute to reducing the number of risks and accidents related to chemicals in the organisation. It will reduce the number of suppliers, improve purchasing agreements and reduce the amount of capital tied up in stocks. Bureau Veritas HSE will provide easier access to HSE data sheets and increased knowledge of chemicals in the company. This, in conjunction with preventive work, may also reduce sickness absence. The result is greater efficiency and higher earnings.
