REACH Registration

Pre-registration - we didn't make it

As of 1 December 2008 it is not legal to import, manufacture or market chemical substances, which have not been pre-registered or registered.

If you did not pre-register your substances before 1 December, you are now obliged to ask the chemical agency ECHA if a registration has already been submitted for the chemical substances, which you did not pre-register.

Bureau Veritas HSE can help you with this

Bureau Veritas HSE needs general information about your company, the identity of the substance and in which quantities the substance is manufactured/imported. When ECHA have assessed the information submitted, they will revert with information about which companies have already registered or pre-registered the substance. These companies will be informed about the inquiry of a possible registrant. The purpose of this is that it must be possible to “share data” to avoid unnecessary animal testing.

Registration of substances

This is the beginning of a registration of the substance. It will not be legal to import or market a substance until ECHA has accepted an application for registration as complete. ECHA has three weeks from receiving the application to carry out the completion control. In other words this means that it is not legal to market the substance from now and until the acceptance of a complete application is available.
